The irony of being wanted.
It is 2026. I have always been someone who is super conscious about online privacy and visibility. have always kept my accounts private despite being impulsive and random about sharing my interests, opinions and beliefs. The past 3 years my thoughts were largely restricted to one person and I had a healthy yet deep rooted sharing with them only. This meant my social presence slowly waded and post college life was largely, me, work and room.
Now, to pivot, I am constantly being tested to my wits end. I have to build a strong visual presence of what I am, what I do, how I do and what I plan to do to everyone, because off chance some random person might connect with me. It makes me uncomfortable that I have to share a general version of me to everyone, while I think I am a multifaceted individual like how everyone actually is. We show a curated version of ourselves to each in a specific way.
AI has been particularly challenging too. I love for a fact how easy lots of repetitive and predictable work can be shipped off to AI agents and on, but it does concern me, they could access me at a whim and create a alter ego of me without any say.
What am I to do, oh love!
